Chi “Christopher” Li: Senior memory

Christopher Li

I came to Carroll about a year and a half ago, so I don’t have a lot of memories of Carroll other than studying and going to classes. If I have to pick one, I’d say my favorite moment in Carroll was the senior retreat day, the day when we have absolutely nothing to do.

In the morning, we were called to the gym from homeroom. When I got there, one side of the gym was already full of people. I found a seat with my friends. We just sat there and waited for Mr. Gennaro. He came in and told us that we had the day to ourselves.

Some of the seniors were playing basketball. The speaker was turned on. It was playing really loud music. People chattered, laughed. We weren’t worried about classes or assignments. We were just having our moment of the school year, the moment that is exclusive to seniors.

For lunch, there was a food truck. I watched a movie while I was eating a burger.

It was an ordinary day for someone else. However, I always enjoy a day when I don’t have to do anything. Maybe when I recall my senior year, that’s the day I will remember the most.
