Meg Birch: Senior memory

Meg Birch

In the spring of my sophomore year, we were able to perform the show Bye Bye Birdie. This was the third time that I was in a production of Bye Bye Birdie. It was one of my favorite shows that I have done in ACTS and it is my favorite out of the times I have been in Bye Bye Birdie.

With every spring show, there are a bunch of seniors who decide they want to be a part of the show in order to experience what ACTS is like. I thought that the seniors that came out for this show were amazing. For example, we had the opportunity to have Anthony Warnick as Mr. MacAfee,  which was awesome. He was actually in Bye Bye Birdie with me when I did the show at Upper Darby Summer Stage in the summer of 2016.

I found it particularly fun to work with Anthony because I was lucky enough to be given a line in the show. For this line, I have to run across the stage yelling this line while threatening to hit him with the cane I was given, although initially I was going to have a crowbar, which I  feel would have been a little funnier. During rehearsals and performances, I would say my line and I would be cracking up. It would be quite hard to not crack up when saying this to him. That was one of my favorite moments in the eight shows at Carroll.
