Class of 2021 senior goodbye

As senior year comes to an end, it is evident that my time at Carroll has flown by. Since “Day One” in September 2017, I have felt welcomed and at home here.

In the beginning, I remember feeling excited and ready for high school. I have been fortunate enough to make so many lasting friendships that I hope last a lifetime and will cherish forever. My friends have truly been the backbone of my love for Carroll and I’m so grateful to have such a good group by my side.

Carroll was the right school for me because of the amazing opportunities offered, encouraging faculty and staff, rigorous academics, and the wonderful student body. I had already known I wanted to get as involved as possible by joining the swim and crew teams, Best Buddies, continuing volunteering and club sports, CSC, and striving to make it into the National Honors Society, but throughout the years, I have joined a few other clubs. I can definitely say that one of the best activities I joined at Carroll was Unified Bocce. Joining the team my junior year was extremely unexpected but has had such a positive impact on my life and time at Carroll as a whole. I wouldn’t trade the memories and friendships made while playing Unified Bocce for the world.

I have loved my time at Carroll and these have been the best four years of my life! When thinking of my best memories from the last four years at Carroll, so many great things come to mind. Bocce, crew, and swim team have been highlights of my time here and I am so thankful for all of the opportunities and experiences I’ve had with my teams. During these sports we have experienced so many PCLs, flipping our boat, endless laughs, sleepovers, races, pasta nights, and so much more. Activities at Carroll like my clubs, NHS, Thon, school dances, and homecomings are also what I’ve loved during high school. Being involved has helped make my high school experience the best it could be. I look forward to prom, graduation, field day, baccalaureate mass, and senior week with my friends.

Finally, senior year has been bittersweet. I will miss it so much but am eager for the next chapter. Although COVID has affected our year, it has been wonderful and I’m glad we’ve had the opportunity to operate on a hybrid schedule, have had activities, and been able to see our friends.

I’m so thankful for all of my teachers and the staff who have influenced me over the past years. Some of my favorite faculty members have been Mr. Murphy, Mrs. Mauger, Ms. DiMattia, Mrs. Carpenter, Mr. Gennaro, Mrs. Glow, Mrs. Cahill, Mrs. Gimpel, Mrs. Young, Mr. Zam, Mr. Scanlan, Mr. Wayock, and Mrs. Faris.
