The new school year brought new teachers to Carroll

Ella Pergine, Staff writer

Archbishop Carroll has several new teachers for the 2022-2023 school year, including Miss Kelly Love, Miss Victoria Black, Mr. Sean Cahir, Mr. John Krieger and Mr. Anil Mathew.

Each teacher has come from a different background. For some, their job at Carroll is their first teaching experience.

Among the first-time teachers is Miss Kelly Love, who took over Mr. Christopher Fryberger’s former position as the skills and resources teacher after he joined the school’s administrative team.

Teaching was not Miss Love’s original career path; she received her degree in school counseling.

“I think the Carroll community is fun, supportive, and caring,” said Miss Love.

Miss Victoria Black, who graduated from Archbishop Ryan, has already started getting more involved in the Carroll community. She is the new strength and conditioning coach for the football team.

Miss Black is a chemist who used to work in a forensic laboratory.

“Carroll has been one of the better career decisions for myself,” said Miss Black.

Sean Cahir, who is a new math teacher, came from Bonner Prendergast High School. Mr. Cahir taught math at Bonner as well.

“Lots of stuff is the same,” Mr. Cahir said. “Most schools have a lot of school spirit but Carroll might be better.”

Mr. Matthew, who teaches physics, and Mr. Krieger, who teaches French, could not be reached for comment.
