Carroll swim defeats Bonner Prendie

Carroll’s swim team defeated Bonner Prendie during a meet at Widener University.

The Archbishop Carroll girls and boys swim teams beat Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast’s small swim team on Wednesday at a meet at Widener University. 

The Carroll girl’s team won, 36-22, and the boys won, 33-20, against the four-member Bonner-Prendie team.

Senior Gracie Brogan won the 50 freestyle and dropped a second from her time, clocking in at  27.7, and she dropped 10 seconds in the 500 freestyle event. Senior Gianna Toland won the 100 freestyle; freshman Augustino Russo also won the 100 freestyle event. Junior Annabel Cook won the 100 backstroke.

 “I made sure to put all my strength into my event even if I was tired,” Cook said.

Carroll’s effort was well received by the coach.

“The team is coming down to the home stretch,” Coach Josh Patota said. “I’m very happy to see the effort still there.”
