Class of 2021 senior goodbye

Tyler+Seward

I appreciate the opportunity given to me to go to this school, Archbishop Carroll. Being my first and only year here at Archbishop Carroll, Carroll allowed me to have a fresh start.

Coming in I was heavily focused on basketball and did not think about the actual part one bit so the only thing on my mind was whether we were going to even have a basketball season. This all changed as soon as the first day of school came. The masses of the senior class filled the train station parking lot like ants. It was cool to see all these new faces and immediately made me excited for the school year. Little did I know, this would be the first and only time I would see half of these faces because they would normally go to school on a whole different day than me.

Once we were done congregating, we all began to drive up to school. I remember the scene like it was yesterday. The morning sky was a bright orange and sat eye distance right above Matsonford Road. As we cruised up that steep hill, all our car speakers rattled with different music: I was playing Giddy Up by Internet Money. (Every time I hear this song, it reminds me of that first day.) Each car one by one right behind each other, it was as if we were in a coordinated fleet on our way to complete a mission. I immediately thought, “This is like a scene from a movie.” I parked, stepped my tight Sperrys onto that concrete, proceeded to get out and immediately felt the warm summer air touch my skin and knew this would be a nice and peaceful school year. Nothing but good vibes.
