In a heartwarming initiative this Christmas season, the Pro-Life Club at Archbishop Carroll organized a drive, partnered with a crisis pregnancy center A Baby’s Breath, to collect essential baby items for new or expectant mothers who may be facing financial difficulties and are worried about providing for their children.

Choir director, social studies teacher, and Pro-Life Club Moderator Miss Suzanne Carpenter said that the focus of the drive was to provide tangible support to mothers who have chosen life for their children amid financial challenges, offering an alternative to those considering abortion because of economic pressures.

“The Pro-Life Club hopes to bless families in need this Christmas season with much-needed baby items,” said Miss Carpenter.

Senior Rose Procaccini, who is president of the Pro-Life Club, emphasized the drive’s empowering impact on young mothers.

“It encourages the young mothers who keep their babies that there is hope for them and their babies,” said Procaccini. “They can inspire other young women who are in the same situation they are.”

The club encouraged students to contribute items such as baby wipes, diapers, bottles, binkies, bibs, shampoo, and formula. Though the formal drive concluded on Dec. 12, Miss Carpenter emphasized that students may bring in items afterward because they are needed year-round.

Mr. Eric Tamney, director of campus ministry, added that the initiative not only provided much-needed physical support but also sent a message to society that there are individuals and resources available to accompany mothers on the challenging journey of parenthood.

“This drive contributes to the broader mission of the pro-life club by supporting and encouraging mothers to choose life for their unborn children who are tempted to choose abortion because of financial concerns,” said Mr. Tamney.
