Archbishop Carroll seniors are aiding potential freshmen in their high school decision process by sharing their reasons as to why they picked Carroll as their “place to be” in video interviews by posted on Instagram.
One senior, Student Council Vice President Ella Peticca, shared her “why Carroll?” in an interview with Director of Admissions Ms. Brianne Branco.
“I was deciding between Carroll and another school, and I ultimately decided on Carroll because of the diverse environment and the opportunity to meet so many different people from so many different places,” Peticca stated.
Carroll’s population is about 70 percent White, 20 percent Black or African American, six percent two or more races and four percent Asian or Asian Pacific Islander, according to U.S. News and World Report. Students from Carroll come from around 89 different zip codes in areas that include Delaware County, Montgomery County, and Philadelphia County.
Senior Ryan Innes said many members of his family went to Carroll and he wanted to continue the legacy. He also stated that the community was what he was attracted to the most.
“I think the Carroll community has a lot of great people in it,” he said. “Another thing that drew me to Carroll was faith. Faith is huge.”
The Carroll community also made an impression on senior Chris Dellaratta.
“What drew me to Carroll was my shadow day, because I got to experience the Carroll community, and it really felt like a family,” Dellaratta said.
